Sales Specialist - Generators & Compressors

This is a high-value, Strategic New Business role with genuine earning potential for the right candidate.

You will be managing and growing a network of 30+ national distributors — rental companies, contractors, and industrial end users — with project order values ranging from $2.5 million to $10 million.

Commission is approximately 1% of revenue, with strong performers earning $80k–$160k on top of base.

About the Company

An established Australian subsidiary of a global OEM, designing and manufacturing hybrid-diesel and gas generators, light towers, air compressors, and battery storage solutions for a broad range of industrial applications. Products are sold exclusively through a national distributor network, with the business now focused on expanding market share and deepening existing distributor relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing and developing a portfolio of national distributor accounts, including rental companies and industrial end users
  • Generating new business through proactive prospecting and joint field visits with distributor representatives
  • Engaging at senior levels — C-suite, General Managers, Operations Managers, and Purchasing contacts
  • Preparing proposals, managing the full sales cycle, and closing high-value capital equipment orders
  • Contributing to sales reporting and coordinating with internal logistics and administration teams
  • Travelling nationally on a quarterly basis to support key accounts and new business activity
What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience selling capital equipment or technical products — backgrounds in agricultural machinery or construction equipment sold through dealer networks are well suited, as is experience selling industrial power generation or compressed air equipment direct to end users
  • A commercially minded approach with the ability to manage long sales cycles and large-value transactions
  • Confidence engaging at senior stakeholder level, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A technical aptitude — comfortable discussing product specifications and application requirements with distributors and end users
  • Based in Western Sydney (Smithfield) — hybrid working is available
