Sales Engineer - Electrical Distribution Infrastructure

Our client is a renowned global OEM manufacturing a comprehensive range of high-voltage to low-voltage electrical and mechanical industrial equipment for mining, utilities, process industries, manufacturing, renewables, data centres, and more.

This role sits within a new, high-growth division focused on premium Transformers and Busbar Systems — part of a broader portfolio of advanced power connectivity solutions. Backed by strong global resources, the business is expanding aggressively in Australia, creating real opportunities for impact and advancement.

Reporting to the Divisional GM, you'll take full ownership of the sales cycle for high-value, custom-engineered equipment — from initial prospecting and relationship building through to specification, tender response, factory liaison, and delivery logistics.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Market mapping and targeting key accounts (existing + new) across Asset Owners, EPCs, Consulting Engineers, OEMs, End Users, and Systems Integrators.
  • Driving early engagement at the design/specification phase to influence outcomes.
  • Responding to tenders/RFQs and collaborating closely with production on technical specs and deliverables.
  • Building long-term relationships to secure project wins and grow account revenue through exceptional service and solutions.
  • Regular Interstate Travel for Customer Engagement
Expect project-based sales in dynamic sectors like renewables, data centres, mining, and heavy process — with a mix of in-person client visits and strategic stakeholder management.

About You
  • B2B sales experience in industrial equipment, electrical/power systems, or related technical sectors (LV/MV electrical knowledge highly regarded).
  • Technical aptitude: comfortable discussing specifications, interpreting requirements, and liaising on engineering details.
  • Proven hunter mindset — dynamic, self-motivated, and hungry for success.
  • Strong relationship-builder who thrives on face-to-face engagement and delivering outstanding customer experiences to win and expand accounts.
  • Ambitious and career-oriented — happy with regular Interstate travel - eager to make your mark in a new division with genuine progression paths.
