The role
Our client is a global manufacturer of fluid transfer infrastructure solutions, delivering innovative products for civil engineering, mining, and coal seam gas sectors. With local manufacturing in Australia, they supply off-the-shelf and custom-designed equipment to Tier 1 and 2 projects, partnering with asset owners and leading EPC contractors like CPB and Santos & BHP. Renowned for sustainable solutions and trusted brands, we’re seeking a General Manager of Sales to lead the national sales strategy.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll lead a team of20 Project Managers, Key Account Managers, and Technical Experts to drive sales and client success across Australia. You’ll also manage C-level relationships with Tier 1 clients and serve as the senior escalation point for strategic accounts. This role blends strategic leadership, solution sales, and long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a national team of 20 to exceed sales and client delivery targets.
- Build and maintain C-level relationships with Tier 1 clients (e.g., Rio Tinto, Santos).
- Act as the senior escalation point for high-value accounts, ensuring client objectives are met.
- Drive innovative, custom-designed solutions to enhance project reliability and viability.
- Partner with clients on 12–24-month account plans to foster long-term growth.
- Oversee business P&L and contribute to strategic planning in a matrix organization.
You’re a strategic sales leader with engineering expertise and a passion for driving major infrastructure projects. You excel in building high-performing teams and forging executive-level relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field).
- 10+ years of sales leadership in infrastructure, mining, or coal seam gas sectors.
- Proven track record of delivering custom solutions for Tier 1/2 projects.
- Experience managing a business P&L and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Comfortable in a matrix-structured global corporate environment.
- MBA or advanced business qualifications.
- Existing C-level relationships in mining or infrastructure sectors.
